Morning Meditation – Here at the Start

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15, ESV)

With these poignantly simple words, Jesus begins His ministry in the earth. Words with a cutting prophetic edge, pointing to an intrusion from heaven never before felt. They pull and tug on our faith, calling us into possibilities for which we have never had to trust.

Here (albeit a little late) at the front edge of 2017, I call you to trust in a “time fulfilled.” Jesus comes not to give us a Bible lesson, but the call of living beyond the ordinary. For Jesus, repentance is not simply the contrite acts of a guilty heart, but the response of one who knows what God is making available.

2017 can be so much more than our natural expectations. In Jesus, everything is fulfilled! There is no lack of support for the one who believes. Right now, I believe that the Lord is calling us to make choices contrary to our normal modes of operation.

Listen. There reverberates in your soul a sound. A belief. A knowing. It tells you that you can accomplish all for which you were created. There’s no need to wait for any other promise. Jesus is here with you now. You don’t have to be made right first…to have everything figured out. You can believe the “good news,” and confidently move, today.

This is the Word over 2017. This is the gospel: the waiting is over! Wholeness is available, right now. Today, would you give room to His voice within?

  1. Absolutely love this. I often find myself “waiting” for the right time and Jesus is making it so clear that the “right” time is and has always been the present. I believe and receive this word. Thank you! .
