Morning Meditation – Consider Light

“Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand?  For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light.” (Mark 4:21-22, ESV)

I think we all share a common experience…we like being liked.

We all want to be known for something…to have an effect.  We want to know that our lives matter.  We want to love and be loved…some for noble reasons, and for others, not so much.  But regardless of motivation, we have a very real hunger to find our meaningful place in this world.

Consider light for a moment.  Light can’t help but be what it is; it reveals the reality of any environment within which it is placed.  It brings growth…healing…transformation…and sometimes, it even tans!  Without light fulfilling its created purpose, everything it affects degrades and ultimately dies.

You matter.  You were meant to be seen and experienced…heard and understood.  Thus, the best of you declares the reality of God’s creative power and the truth of His felt love.  In a very real way, you are the opportunity for others to know that which is currently hidden to them, to experience life as better.

Simply…you were born with purpose from heaven.  Be light in the darkness.  Don’t hide.  Be.  Love more than you are loved, and God will do the rest.

  1. Good Morning even though I haven’t seen you for awhile I just want you to know that you are a inspiration to me. Because of you and the message you bring through God they have helped me grow. The 6th of February was the 3 year anniversary of my accident that I had where the young Soldier was killed. I would never have thought something like this would have happened to me I can tell you how it feels to live with something like this. I know we aren’t supposed to question God and I am still trying to figure it out why it happened.

They say I now have PTSD and I suppose I do I have had many sleepless nights and dreams about it, it has gotten much easier now through Prayer and counseling and also the Ministry that I am now part off Homiez4Christ it has given me a chance to witness to many different people and has shown me that it is possible to reach many people through outreach, The different car shows that we go to our a tool as well as our cars to touch many people and share our stories and witness. Many times we have prayed and asked for healing for people I never would have thought would have accepted it.

I just wanted to share this with you I must tell Pastor David Ortega has also made a big difference he is a true man of God and what you see is what you get with him, its not about Religion it is about God I feel like God wants me to me where I am at now but I really miss you all. I will be 70 in a few days and I have God to thank for everything I have I know he is still using me and I try to do the things he wants sometimes I know I should do better and I still need lots of prayer. Thanks for letting me share this I love all you guys so much and thanks for always being there when I asked.

    1. Amen, Wes! Thank you for the huge encouragment. It’s been a joy to see how the Lord has worked through your situations to show Himself faithful. Looking forward to the days ahead with you. I know the Lord has much more for all of us. Blessings to you, Wes.

Pastor, I like when you said “In a very real way, you are the opportunity for others to know that which is currently hidden to them”. This is true with light and darkness…we can be that opportunity for them to find light, or through our tongue, or actions can bring out darkness as well….this one really got my thought going…
