Morning Meditation – A Better Glory

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold, not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end.” (2 Corinthians 3:12-13, ESV)

All good things fade.  Celebrations eventually find their quiet finale.  And every party ends with a stack of dirty dishes in the sink.  What a harsh reality!  We can spend our entire lives moving from one thrilling event to the next and never really be satisfied.

Even the effects of the supernatural diminish over time.  Have you ever noticed?  The inspirational effects of the last healing/miracle don’t always carry us through the next trial.  One moment we’re excited about the possibilities, and the next, we’re in dire straits about what’s not going right!

God’s Word says, “You need a better glory.”

Granted, the gift of God is enjoying life!  But oft times, while we’re enjoying life, we forget how to access the true transformation that never fades with time.  If you were to read the rest of the verses surrounding the 2 Corinthians 3 passage, you would find that God’s greater gift gives you something far grander than a fading miracle or a momentary joy.  The true miracle, through Christ, is His promised presence bringing freedom to every soul.

And what is that freedom?  The silencing of all fear by the truth of God’s revelation.

Pondering…
