Out of creation, truth unfurls in unfathomable dimensions. All around us, it cries. It declares its purpose. We see the beauty…we feel it; and something in us responds with vigorous exaltation.
Have you ever noticed? Something in you automatically and joyously reacts to creation. Whether captured in electronic media, or physically standing in the midst of it, something in us says, “Wow…that’s amazing!”
When God said to His creation, “It is good,” those Words pointed to an endowment given to every created being—a recognition that God is good; that God is love. We’re wired to see beauty; to long for its embrace, and be inspired by its grandeur. From the beginning of creation, this internal deposit reminds us of the truth of God, and calls us deeper into the reality of our divine design.
This is the truth of creation: joy increases when our heart sees what God has done. It tells us that God is not done with us. The issue of joy has always been our heart’s sensitivity to God’s creative activity around us. The hardness or tenderness therein is fueled by our eyes’ focus. Jesus said, “Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness.” (Luke 11:34, ESV). Get your focus right; see what God is doing all around you; and joy will increase in your life.
Have fun, today, seeing the light all around you.
