Morning Meditation – At Rest

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (John 10:29, ESV)

I cry out. I believe. I pursue. I know that what I have hoped for is just around the corner. It’s on the other side of my prayer. It’s in a place just beyond my current awareness. I know that if I believe long enough, exercise my faith without backing down, then it will pay-off in the end.

But I also know, at the close of the day, regardless of the outcomes of my faith-filled labors, I simply must rest in the Father’s hands.

Our days are filled with desire. We hope that today will be different, that something will shift. So, we work and invest in that which we believe will open new doors. Sometimes those doors open, and at other times, the doors simply disappear before our watchful eyes. On one day, we’re riding high on the fruit of our labors, and on others, we dejectedly stand at the ocean of opportunity and wonder when will the current flow in the right direction.

Life is work, both of muscle and faith. It’s an endurance race. We believe; we choose; we keep investing until the breakthrough!

So, lie down and rest tonight knowing that no one nor any thing can steal your life and your dreams from the Father’s hands. Keep pressing forward!

  1. WOW!!! This is so wonderfully encouraging. It is amazing how quickly this truth can slip out of the routine of our day. In and of itself it brings hope. The goodness of God to build into us both hope & rest is awesome!
