Morning Meditation – Beyond the Details

“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes.  So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8, ESV)

Knowing the details is not as important as we think.

We can have our hopes and dreams, but Jesus makes it very clear that a life of Spirit contains a lot of mystery.  We don’t always know where He is truly leading…we’re not supposed to.  Whether we like it or not, much of life is an unknown.  We can choose a direction, but we will never know what the resultant details will ultimately look like.

This is the freedom of our faith.  We know that God has us!  He knows the path before us.  We may choose a course, but the Lord knows how it will unfold.  The twists and turns may even catch us off guard at times, but God is good.  This is what we can truly depend on, not our dreams manifesting as we see them, but God’s goodness working while we walk our journey.

So, be encouraged.  Choose your road in faith.  Let God fill your imagination with all His goodness.  Let it overflow into every decision, and watch the Holy Spirit do the rest.

Pastor Jim, my husband Dave and I had the awesome blessing to attend Zion River while we were there for the winter. We’ve never felt the presents of our Lord so strongly in any othere church we’ve attended. My brother Tim and his wife attend regularly. We’ll be back next winter, as we work for the forest service. Thank you for your morning mediation. Mary n Dave Harmon

I once went with some gal friends to a cowboy place to dance. I know nothing about “boot scootin” . A man asked me to dance and I was later told he was one of the best cowboy dancers in the place. The dance was one of those fast paced partners dances. We started out and it was awful. We stopped dancing and I told him I don’t know how to dance like this. Graciously he said “just let me lead”. It was so crazy, as I relaxed and let him lead every step, I was dancing like a pro! Many people on the dance floor were watching us and he made me look good! To me it’s like that with God, When the Spirit leads and faith follows His steps, what a wonderful dance we have together!
