Morning Meditation – Sin Still Matters

“No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.” (1 John 3:9, ESV)

For better or worse, when I look at my kids, I see much of myself. Of course, we may not agree on clothing choices nor on our favorite genre of music, but we’re driven by similar motivations. They are my children; they are not only the recipients of my DNA, but they also bear the markers of all that their mother and I possess and have transferred to their souls and spirits.

In our relationship with God, it was meant to be the same. Once we choose to receive Him, we become His kids, and as His kids, we begin manifesting the characteristics of His nature. It is a spiritual law—we are under the generational blessing of our Heavenly Father.

So…how you live matters! It points to who you are. It testifies to the home under which you dwell. It can’t be helped! If you say you’ve been born again, then your motivations and your responses to everyday situations will be like your Father’s. You ARE your Father’s child.

Today, renew your heart to your Dad’s Spirit. You can’t be like the world and say that God is your Heavenly Father. Represent Him well. Choose to be like your Father; and when you do, all will come into alignment according the house you’ve chosen.
