Morning Meditation – Let it Go!

“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven…” (Luke 6:37, ESV)

You are not what others have believed about you.  And, others are not what you have believed about them.

Why attach the meaning of your life to another’s testimony?  Why blame your current issues on what others have said about you?  Why lose your days defending yourself to people that are not even on the radar any longer?

We have given too much power to shame, or to the people through whom that shame comes.  Stop trying to teach them a lesson.  Cease the senseless Facebook “teachings” that are simply disguised attempts to correct people in your past.  Release your bondage to imaginary conversations!

Let’s truly forgive as God has forgiven us.

Forgiveness releases another of any responsibility of suffering under their guilt.  It truly is a choice to be free.  We don’t have to talk about it.  We don’t have to preach it, hoping that the offensive person hears it.  Forgiveness releases healing rather than correction.

So, tell yourself, “I can let it go!  I can be free to live my life as God intended.”

Instead of those unforgiving thoughts taking us captive, let’s take them captive and pull them down! If Jesus can forgive those who beat tormented and killed Him for no reason, then we have that example of forgiving. He can show us how to walk out of that captivity!

I am fairly new on here (been doing devotionals on here less than a year)
I still have so much that I need to learn. I love how you tag words to click to lead back to your postings. How do you do that? Can you give me some help lol

    Yours looks so nice

    1. Good morning, truefaith101! Hope you’re having an amazing day. To put tags into your post, go to “Post settings” while you’re writing your post. Under “post settings,” you’ll see a pull down for “categories & tags.” In the “tags” box, you simply add the key words that you want to link to your post. I hope that helps.
