Morning Meditation – The Path Forks

“Enter by the narrow gate.  For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those enter by it are many.  For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14, ESV)

Life is filled with intersections—literally and figuratively.  And no, not all paths lead to the same destination.

God has always been about choice.  Your choice puts you on a road.  It sets your path.  It determines every outcome.  Jesus is very clear that there are specific choices leading either to destruction or life.

Wow, not a popular message, today!  In our world, we would rather reduce all of life to simply being the product of uncontrollable forces.  That, we are not what we are because we chose it to be so, but we are the product of our genetics and environment.

Jesus would disagree with that.  Certainly, those things influence; and without doubt, there are some things we go through that create horribly huge obstacles, BUT they are not the final word.  We are not the product of external forces, but of internal conviction.

As you move through this day, be reminded: you possess the power of belief.  That faith says, “There’s a better way.”  Choose His way and find the power of His divine story through you!

  1. It so easy to make the wrong choice, I choose to follow God because without him I would be lost, in the past I made several choices I should not have made and I realize how easy they were to make but they were the wrong ones. I think people don’t realize its hard sometimes to be a Christian because there are so many obstacles that if you let them will take you where you don’t want to be, I try to live my life by Faith in God and I know now that as long as I do I’m good to go.

Jesus says “follow me” . no pretense, no hidden agenda, no tricks. A simple invitation from a loving heart for a daily choice. I only pray that in each day, as much as possible, I choose His invitation .
