Morning Meditation – In the Quiet

The world has become a very noisy place. Lighted screens, vitriolic news, mind-numbing media of all kinds…escape can, at times, seem futile. All the drama at work only serves to fill our internal ears with even more unrelenting chatter. Add in all the emotional distress that plagues our families and society, and you have a recipe for a whole lot of debilitating stress.

God’s response: “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10, ESV)

In the midst of it all, God invites us into the place where meaning can be found – where the noise is pushed out. Where we discover that things are not as they appear to be. Instead, we become His voice…His hands…and ultimately, His love in every circumstance. So, rather than being subject to all the forces in the earth, we are a force in the earth because we’ve been with the Father.

Consider this, today: things will finally make sense when God alone has our attention.

I’m reading this now after working a very noisy and busy ICU all weekend. I agree withBecky about your photo here. It really draws one in! In Gods “nature” are all the restful sights and sounds He created and intended for us to be still in. To listen to and know He is God. Great meditation!
