Morning Meditation – More Than Words

“Then Jesus answered her, ‘O woman, great is your faith!  Be it done for you as you desire.’” (Matthew 15:28, ESV)

What is it about faith that grabs the attention of our Lord?

It’s not just the words.  We can speak faith, but our heart can be far from God.  We can hunger for a miracle, but that doesn’t mean we hunger for our Father’s presence.  Faith is so much more than asking and expecting an answer.  It is not wishcraft—where we learn to say what is required to get the results desired—but, faith is based on our knowledge of the One that gives life to all things.

Faith speaks from a heart that knows the Lord; it recognizes that God is real in my life.  Although, we may be desperate for Jesus’ intervention, faith is the knowing in my heart that I can trust God.  It has a humility that does not hold God hostage to my will.  Faith simply cries out to Jesus, knowing that He loves and hears me—that I am perfectly planted in the palm of His hand.

Stand strong, today!  Believe for what only God can do.  Then, watch for His unfolding plans.

  1. I’m needing me some emojis here!

There is definitely a drawing of the Lord taking place (and has been since the beginning of man) which beckons a stepping into faith; believing He really does uphold us as He leads into unchartered waters.
