“I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation…” (Philippians 4:12, NIV)
I have given myself to this life we call ministry—serving the Lord, equipping the church, and proclaiming the gospel of the Kingdom. It has consumed 27 years of my life. I have known little else.
I must say, though, it did not turn out the way I expected. Certainly, there have been high moments—ecstatic experiences in His presence, miracles, and powerful revelations of His truths—but, mostly, there is the day to day struggle of the battle between flesh and Spirit.
Like the Apostle Paul, I am learning the secret of being content in all things. Whether loved or hated, understood or misunderstood, congratulated for my faithfulness or despised for my lack, in it all, my heart has found peace in simply knowing that my Lord knows me.
This is the center of all the wisdom I can give you—there is only one you need to know, and only one who needs to truly know you. Find Him. Stay close to Him. Whether life is unfolding as you planned, or falling apart all around you, only with Jesus will you find the continual washing of joy and contentment in the midst of His love and divine purpose.
Your story is written; walk in it, and be His light to the world.
