Morning Meditation – Breaking Into the Real World

“For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7, ESV)

That which God has planted in you will not grow on its own.  It must be fueled.  It must be breathed upon.  You must give it opportunity to germinate into the fullness of God’s intended story for you.

You have a call…a gift that must be “fanned into flame.”  It requires consistent work: dreaming…decisions…goals…movement.  You must jump, with fullness of faith, into the adventurous unknown of your God given assignment in order to see it become real.  You must risk.

Take encouragement from the Word of God.  You can only be excited about what God is doing when it exists outside of your own imagination.  God and others may have planted the seeds of divine purpose within you.  Books and other resources may have stirred the waters of your dreaming; but only you have the power to “fan into flame the gift of God.”  Activate what God has given you and watch what opens in your world.

I had a vision when I was a new Christian. I was sitting praying eyes closed and, In front of me up close , I saw a clear glass bowl like a small fishbowl. On the bottom of the inside was liquid oil, and on that, in the center, not connected to a wick but only on the oil, was burning a big fat flame 🔥 . The flame was flickering very slowly and I was intently watching it being mesmerized by it. Then suddenly, from the right side, I saw someone blow on it and that flame started to move widely all over on the inside of that fishbowl. I really never have had an exact interpretation of that until now! The oil probably the anointing and the flame is that life and plan God has planted in each of us, It burns but without fanning just stays in one place. I really think the breath is the breath of God as we allow Him to breath that life into our anointing and story. As we seek Him, ask Him, humble ourselves and turn our ear to Him, we hear from Him and He directs us into that “walk” of His plan in us and we are excited… stirred up!

  2. Amen!!! This is perfect timing as always. I have a Chemistry Exam thay I have been dreading and very unsure of today. Also the enemy has really been trying to plant the thoughts of me dropping out of school and giving up on my story lately! This Quarter has been the hardest one yet and I have really been questioning my ability, and to be honest Gods to be able to finish up my last year at Pierce and transfer for my last two years. Go figure after all the amazing miracles God has already done in me I still sometimes doubt! Thank you so much for this much needed word!!!

  3. YES!!!
I was just having a conversation w/ someone last night; she was wanting to withdraw from something she committed too…something of multiplication.
My words of encouragement were “this isn’t going to come easy. You’ll have to fight for it; the devil will make a way for it to be easy to walk away from God being Glorified. Your decisions & actions matter, both now and for generations to come.”

This morning as I read this I’m reminded, oh ya, I’m an encourager (it’s not who I am, but something I do); and sometimes that comes with rawness. If I stifle it, if I ignore His stirring within, the ember dies out.
    FIRE!!! Thank You Jesus!
    Just me sharing…
