Morning Meditation – A Hard One to Swallow

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” (Romans 9:33, ESV)

God makes a way…we just have to buy into it.

The religious mind, on the other hand, depends upon our action motivating God’s action.  It’s always thinking, “How do we get more of God’s favor?  How do we access our next miracle?  How do we bring the next move of God?”  These aren’t bad questions, but they’re not the right ones.

Jesus, in contrast, simply says, “All I desire from you and for you is already accessible by your faith.  You don’t have to win my heart; you already have it.  Everything is already prepared for you.  You just have to walk it out with me.”

This is the “stumbling block” – Jesus paid the ticket for admission into every possibility.  I don’t have to work any system; I only have to believe the One who will lead me perfectly into what He’s already made available.

This is faith…being led.
