“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God…For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.” (1 Corinthians 1:18, 22-23 ESV)
There exists no greater manifestation of God’s power than the cross. The Lord could not give us a greater display of His transformative love. If we were to look to anything else to feel good about our Christianity, then we would be negating the greatest action God could show us.
In the cross, Jesus releases all the love of the Father. There is truly nothing more we could ask of our King to demonstrate His love for us.
So, let’s say with Apostle Paul, “In all things I have learned the secret of being content” (Phil. 4:12), because God has already given us everything He could.
