Well…I guess I should start this morning with, “HAPPY THANKSGIVING!”
Have you ever asked yourself, “Do we really recognize the One to whom we should be thankful?” Gathering throughout America and being thankful is truly a great reason to celebrate; but Thanksgiving means we are thankful to SOMEBODY for the life we’ve been given.
Certainly, we can thank our Moms and Dads for providing a home. We can be thankful for our health, food, clothing, and a myriad of other things. We can even be thankful that we simply are alive! But in order for thankfulness to be what it is, it must be directed at somebody.
Consider this, today, “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. “For in him we live and move and have our being.’” (Acts 17:24-28, NIV84)
Everything IS what it is because there was a designer. What’s the witness…it’s in your heart. Everything in you cries out that you have purpose and meaning…you come from somewhere, and you are going somewhere.
So, would you pray with me, “Lord, thank you for life and all the details that come with it. Not all of it feels good, but I know that wired into life is everything necessary for our best to manifest. Thank you for the dream. Thank you for the opportunity. Thank you for Jesus, who sacrificed His life so that the impossible could become possible. Help us all to see as you see; so that what has been designed from the beginning would find room in our lives. Thank you, Father, for the opportunity to live and to give as you do. May your love in us grow. Amen!”
