Morning Meditation – The Illusion

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8, NIV)

A life of the Spirit is anything but predictable.  The Spirit sees what we do not see.  He moves us toward goals and outcomes that we cannot understand.  His perspective is one to which we will never be privy.  But, how fun is this gift Jesus has given us?!

To live in such a life, one would think it would require the relinquishing of control; which may sound scary, but who said we had control anyways?  Control is an illusion.  Sure, we may have choices, and those choices may lead us to supposed predictable outcomes, but in the end, our decisions only position us in possible opportunities.  Where they lead, only the Lord truly knows.

The beauty of being led by the Spirit, then, is not a guarantee of my desired hopes, but the joy of adventuring with God into the wild unknown of living life to the fullest.  Allow God to encourage you, today, in this!  Let your joy flow from the adventurous lifestyle you were intended to live.  Predictability will only frustrate you.  You were called to live…so live!  You were born-again so that you could live with the advantage of moving by a perspective higher than yours—by a heart that truly loves you!

Have fun with Him, today, and see what truly is possible with God.
