“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.” (Luke 1:35, ESV)
The sun rose and burned the sky red. On nearby homes, it warmed the frost covered shingles releasing their trapped vapor into the atmosphere. It’s almost as if I could feel the intensity of the cold through the protective window of my home.
These calm winter mornings soothe my soul. Sitting on my couch. Drinking my coffee. Watching the world transform into a new day. I feel alive and ready for whatever may come.
In these moments, I dream. I ponder and pray for my eyes to see better than they did the day before. I think of Jesus, and how He would rise, perhaps on a morning such as this, and ponder all that His Father would do through this new day.
I would encourage you with a simple thing: indulge your day with these moments of wonder. Salt your life in the quiet moments. In them, you will find all the meaning you need. God will grant you access to His heart…His plan…the opportunities for today.
God has already seen it all; it’s already done. Have fun with it.
