As I’m preparing for tomorrow’s services, I thought I would share this with you…
I assume you all feel like me. I want to know exactly how it’s going to go—how things are going to turn out. I want to know that if I do everything right, that everything will be alright.
Well…we all know that’s not how it works. There would be no true freedom if we could predict all things. All faith would degrade into religion if we could work God and the system to our best interest.
The truth—our vision will never be as clear as we would like it.
Consider the Word. Paul said, “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12) Only when we see Christ face to face will we truly understand who we really are. We will see what our lives truly mean. For the time being, we live by faith. We live for purposes that we may never understand in this life. We keep moving believing that we’re smack dab in the middle of the Father’s hands.
In a world that is so bent on self-identity and self-affirmation, this may be a hard pill to swallow. But if we take it, we’ll truly be free. The truth of who we are in Christ will only be seen over eternity not over the short span of our current existence.
Take encouragement from the Lord: you are an eternal being. This life is a pre-work out for the real deal. Believe Jesus, and let’s follow Him into the fullness of our destiny.
See you tomorrow morning. 😇
LOVE this!!!!
Amen
