Devotional Word—God’s Version Matters

“…in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me…”(Psalm 139:16, ESV)

Deep within you, a version of you exists that no one can discern.

You feel it. No matter how hard you try, people don’t always get you or the motivation of your heart. You speak. You love. You give out what you believe to be true. But, people’s version of you is slightly askew from what you intend. Sometimes, you even get the sense that some people actually dislike the version of you they have interpreted.

Do you know what I mean?

Well, there is only One who truly knows you. He sees you for who you truly are. He alone knows your purpose…your calling…and ultimately, why you do what you do. God alone has discerned your beginning from the end.

Trust in His love and fulfill your purpose; knowing that all things are in His hands. Find your satisfaction in His knowledge of you. Be at peace because you cannot control the thoughts or interpretations of another. While we must all grow and mature in our communication with others, at the end of the day you have to be at peace with yourself in Christ.

Only from this place can you love well and give without any thought of return. This is the mature place—the truly deep place. Without any one to win over or control, you are able, then, to fully become the person God has seen from the beginning.

God’s got it. Believe in what He’s given you to do. And sleep well.

Kind of late on my comment but this meditation increases my confidence as the Lord is the one who really knows me, “all is well with my soul “ ❤️
