In the Midst of Chaos

There it sat. This bright splash of indigo—declaring that beauty reigns. It took only a moment to capture it on my phone.

And then, these thoughts washed over me…In the midst of chaos, brilliant beauty nestles itself amid the noise. Although much tries to snuff it out, it still shines bright. Beauty shouts from its purposed station reminding us that hope remains no matter what whirlwind may be swirling about us.

Even while reading through the news, today, it highlighted to me our need to see and be overwhelmed by beauty rather than the din of society’s noise. Although the battle rages and we all sense the growing sickness to which no one wants to admit—beauty still calls our attention to its message.

Now don’t worry, this meditation is not meant to degrade into a melancholic voice for the darkness infusing itself between the cracks of our imagination. For instead, God is reminding us that beauty and light reign! Darkness cannot remain where light is allowed to be lifted up.

So, I lift-up Christ, “the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame, and now sits at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2) He truly is the light of the world—the demonstration of all that is love in human form. He is our hope leading us to be love and light as well—to be His beauty in the earth. His resurrection is the hope that all will be raised to a new life in a world governed by His grace and love.

Certainly, humanity can try, with all their ingenuity, to create all kinds of laws to protect us from evil; but legislation will not change the broken heart of humanity. It cannot stop the vain imaginings of broken people. Only Christ can heal a nation…a world.

So…see the glory of a simple majestic flower shrouded in brilliant hues of azure. Be reminded that with a single Word all of creation came into a being. Life sprang forth from a single imagination. And now, beauty declares that there is One who reigns, and in the end, His love will win!

  1. When I used to drive Truck cross country I loved to travel across the Arizona Desert at night, it was so peaceful because you could see the Stars and all the different plant life that there is, I used to marvel at how great God is that he could create such majestic wonder, I imagined what must be beyond the sky and stars, it was a great time to meditate and really get next to God, I will admit I wasn’t as close as I am now to God, but only a fool could think it could come from anywhere else but God.

Especially in the springtime, we are surrounded by His creation springing to life. Trees. flowers, butterflies and the business of the birds building nests…Robins, chickadees, hummingbirds all unaware of political agendas, murders, or natural disasters happening in the world, just doing what the Creator designed them to do, bloom and bear fruit. As His sons and daughters, we also have a plan and design from our Father to spread His love and light to a world that’s coming apart at the seams. Thank you for this meditation! It says to me to be diligent to do my part to shine forth my beautiful Creators love for the world and touch hearts.
