Mid-morning Meditation—Don’t Try So Hard to Figure It Out

Just a quick follow-up to my message yesterday…it’s still feeling strong in my heart!

Have you ever noticed that there is no vacation trip you can plan that ever goes exactly the way you expect? Sometimes things work in your favor and sometimes things go completely awry! From illness to personal conflicts with other travelers, it’s obvious we’re not in complete control.

As much as we like predictability, life is not like that. It doesn’t usually go as we planned. And so, what do we do? We pray hoping that God will help us make our steps more predictable and more successful.

But the truth is God is not an astrologer. He’s not sitting up on His holy throne throwing out prophecies so that you and I can be absolutely secure in every step we take.

So, don’t try to predict what God is doing. Although He may give us glimpses of the future or grant us prophetic understanding into His purposes, He does not usually give us the details. He doesn’t reveal how events will unfold as we obey Him into our ordained story.

What does the Word say instead? “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Trust involves moving without complete sight. It’s the call of every human being. It means that we believe our road has been laid out with intention, and that the Father is using me to fulfill purposes I cannot imagine. I simply have to trust that I am loved no matter.

Even now some of you may be frustrated by situations, people, and perhaps a host of other unplanned interferences. So, go back to what God revealed to you last, do that, and trust that your ordained path is being worked out under His loving reign.

I am just anxious to stay in touch. Unblinded, I was so broken. Now I pray for the guidance and teaching of the Holy Spirit. Living in His Presence as invited as part of salvation. I SURRENDER ALL, teach me how! In Jesus’ name, amen.

  2. This leading has spoke to my heart a great deal in this season; scripture verse also my very first I learned and memorized. Messes me up each time the Lord brings it back around for further depth of understanding. Believing; receiving; and stepping into all the Lord has me to gain out of it!

  3. THAT’s MY LIFE VERSE. When ever I here it it’s so good! For it reminds me where need to look, what I need to do, what I shouldn’t be doing, where am headed and who I can trust explicitly. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ!
